DRINKING WATER PROBLEM HAS BEEN CORRECTED

As a customer of the Coraopolis Water and Sewer authority you were notified on the morning of July 7, 2010 of a problem with our drinking water and were advised to not use the water.  We are pleased to report that the problem has been corrected and that it is no longer necessary to not use the water. We appologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience. 
We have flushed the water system and taken samples from our distribution systen to ensure that the pH levels have been corrected. 
As always, you may contact Coraopolis Water & Sewer Authority at 412-264-3002. 

Please share this information with all other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly ( for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.

Please note that the recycling pickup for November 25, 2010( Thanksgiving Day) will take place on November 26, 2010 and recycling normally scheduled for Friday November 26, 2010 will take place on Saturday, November 27, 2010.

 NEW WEB TOOL ALLOWS PENNSYLVANIANS TO CHECK STATUS OF PROPERTY TAX/RENT REBATES

Eligible older adults and residents with disabilities can now check the status of Property Tax/Rent Rebate applications on line at www.papropertytaxrelief.com

"Our committment to property tax relief is unwavering, and this new Web Tool enhances customer service for the older adults and people with disabilities who rely on these annual checks," Governor Edward G. REndell said, introducing the new tool in late April. Six weeks after submitting a Property Tax/Rent Rebate application, the applicant may visit www.papropertytaxrelief.com and check the status of the rebate be entering his/her Social Security number, anticipated rebate amount and birth date. Applicants may use the Web site to comfirm claim status, rebate amount and the date a rebate is expected to be mailed or direct deposited. Rebate checks will begin being distributed to early applicants on July 1.

Through a similar automated phone service, Property Tax/Rent Rebate applicants can check rebate status by calling, toll free, 1-800-PATAXES

  MEETING CHANGE

DUE TO A RESIGNATION ON THE CORAOPOLIS WATER AND SEWER AUTHORITY BOARD, THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF CORAOPOLIS WILL BE SELECTING AN INDIVIDUAL TO FILL THAT POSITION. THE APPOINTMENT WILL TAKE EFFECT IMMEDIATELY AND WILL RUN THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2010.
